Create Something With A Cross Stitch

Cross stitching is a fun hobby that is something that many women and even young girls love to practice. It is a quiet hobby that allows you to create something out of nothing in a matter of days while you are watching your favorite movie or listening to relaxing music.

When starting off you want to start with a pattern that is basic and also quite small as you are bound to make a few mistakes. You can work your way to something bigger and more involved as you get better at it.
Steps:

- First you need to cut your fabric. Make sure that it is a bit bigger than the pattern.

- Cut your thread one yard. Keep in mind that the threads come in strands of six. You will need to separate the threads one strand at a time.

- When you thread your needle make sure that the two ends are equal.

- When stitching start from the top left of the stitch and bring the needle up through from the bottom. While doing this hold the tail at the back of the thread leaving an inch on the back as an anchor.

- You will now need to bring the thread down to the lower right corner and then back up through the upper right and down through the lower left. If done correctly you will see an ‘X’. Make sure to pull the thread flush with the surface of the fabric.

- Start your next stitch so it uses two of the same holes as this one.

- Repeat, making sure your stitches overlap your anchor thread on the back of the fabric.
